Addresses AP® Biology Big Ideas 2, 3, and 4 and Essential Knowledge 2.C.3, 2.E.3, 3.E.1, and 3.E.3. Students determine the food preferences of Brassica butterfly larvae. Results are collected and quantified, and their significance is determined using chi-square analysis. Students set up a choice experiment to determine the food preferences of Brassica butterfly larvae. Results are collected and quantified, and their significance is determined using chi-square analysis. Applying these techniques, students pose proximate and ultimate questions about other Brassica butterfly larvae behaviors and design an experiment to answer the questions.
