This kit includes a set of preserved sheep organs for dissection as well as a set of histology microscope slides that allow students to explore the general structure of mammalian organs. Students explore the interdependence of organ systems and investigate the specific structures and functions of each organa preserved sheep eye, kidney, heart, and brain. They also examine the tissue types and microanatomy of these organs using the accompanying microscope slides. Teachers have the option to perform the dissections as class demonstrations or have student groups dissect the organs in separate stations.
This kit also includes a teacher's manual with reproducible student guide. The student guide contains background information and assessment questions, as well as dissection guides, labeled diagrams, and a glossary for each specimen.
