The 142 sequential lesson plans offer hands-on activities covering all necessary information for the AP® Exam and exceeding the requirements of the AP® Course Audit. Each lesson plan includes objectives, a materials list, a procedure for 1 or more activities, and student handouts and grading rubrics where needed. Combined with weekly lab activities are student-centered games, puzzles, role-playing, scavenger hunts, case studies, and other kinesthetic learning experiences.

Each lesson plan includes objectives, a materials list, a procedure for student-centered learning with reproducible handouts and grading rubrics where needed. Combined with teacher-guided and student-designed weekly lab activities are games, puzzles, role-playing, scavenger hunts, case studies, and other kinesthetic learning experiences. Although this curriculum is written to help a teacher use a "flipped" classroom model in an APES class, it is also applicable to general Environmental Science and some other high school level Earth Science courses. Common Core Standards for ELA Literacy objectives in Science and Technical Subjects and CCS Math Modeling and Algebra are utilized throughout this curriculum. NGSS thinking and performance skills are covered entirely for all high school subjects. The APES Daily Lesson Plans curriculum covers half of ESS2 performance expectations and all LS2 and ESS3 performance expectations.
