DataClassroom℠ is a web app for graphing, statistics, and data analysis in the grades 6–12+ science and math classroom. Students can use DataClassroom℠ with data generated from their own experiments or from anywhere else. The tool runs on any web browser on a PC or tablet and requires no software installation to use. License duration is 2 months from date of activation for 1 teacher and a class of up to 45 students.

The tool runs on any web browser on a PC or tablet, requires no software installation to use, integrates with popular learning management systems, and uses data from any source, so teachers can easily incorporate next-generation data skill development with the learning experiences they are already creating.

Students can use DataClassroom℠ with data generated from their own experiments, data from existing databases, data provided by their teachers, or data from anywhere else. DataClassroom℠ features a graph wizard, which helps students understand how to visualize their data. As students work through the graph wizard, DataClassroom℠ defines and explains the conditions necessary to use different types of graphs; students don’t waste time trying to decode the specifics of a particular spreadsheet program or software that was not explicitly designed for learning. When students spend less time making graphs, they have more time to focus on the stories that data can tell. This leaves more time for the kinds of discussions that allow students to form lasting connections to the material. DataClassroom℠ walks students through graph-making every step of the way so they can focus on higher order thinking.

Within DataClassroom℠ are ready-to-teach lesson plans that make it easy for teachers to engage students in real world datasets to investigate the trends and insights that data can offer. Datasets in the DataClassroom℠ Resource Library range from large datasets on current topics to small datasets from classic middle and high school lab activities. Each lesson plan is fully customizable and includes background information, explanations of the variables and the dataset, and a detailed activity section, so teachers can bring a lesson to their classroom with little to no prep. And because DataClassroom℠ was designed by teachers, the tool can integrate with learning management systems such as Schoology®, Clever, and Google Classroom™.
