Set of 15 different cylinders (pegs) ranging in density from 0.5 to 9 g/mL. Includes acetal, acrylic, aluminum, brass, copper, CPVC, HDPE, maple, nylon, PETG, phenolic resin, polystyrene, PP, PTFE, and PVC. Large cylinder volumes (7 to 18 mL) increase accuracy of density determinations. Peg color and size help teachers identify them easily. Instruction manual provides suggested activities as well as descriptions of each material and its use.

Instruction manual provides suggested activities as well as descriptions of each material and its use. Depending on your students' ability, you can use water displacement or dimensional analysis to find the density. For more advanced students, challenge them to use both methods then compare the accuracy of their results.
Additional materials needed for water displacement: Class set of graduated cylinders and water. The pegs must fit in the graduated cylinder without touching its sides.
Additional materials needed for dimensional analysis: Class set of metric rulers or calipers and the formula for the volume of a regular cylinder.
