Note: Red crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) experience semiannual molting cycles, which reduce their hardiness and survivability. These periods generally occur during early fall (September and October) and early spring (February and March). We may make substitutions during this time to ensure you receive the highest quality specimens. Crayfish are also susceptible to mortality due to heat extremes experienced during warmer months. These organisms should not be shipped over a weekend. Carolina recommends that you request your order to arrive on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (or even a Saturday) to avoid weekend shipping.
