Meets AP® Chemistry Topic 1. Students analyze and determine the identity of an unknown hydrogen carbonate using mass difference, thermal decomposition, and titration data. This advanced experiment demonstrates the relationship between mass, moles, and stoichiometry and builds strong problem-solving skills. Students also gain experience with both gravimetric and volumetric apparatus. Materials are sufficient for 30 students working in pairs.
