Product Details
Carosafe® is a formaldehyde-free holding solution for preserved specimens. It is NOT a tissue fixative. Most Carosafe® specimens were first preserved with a formalin solution and then washed before placement in Carosafe®. This produces a formalin-preserved specimen that, when dissected, minimizes formaldehyde exposure.
Mix 1-part Carosafe® Concentrate with 9-parts water. Fully immerse formalin-fixed specimens in Carosafe® and seal in an air-tight container to extend specimen shelf-life.
Laboratory Grade—Intermediate purity. Suitable for educational laboratories. Use for qualitative analysis, not quantitative analysis.
