Grade 6–College. Help students discover how sequences of bases called codons encode the amino acids that comprise proteins. In this fun, engaging tabletop game, student "scientists" roll and arrange the DNA Dice to form a codon that codes for a specific amino acid. They repeat the process until they complete chains of amino acids from proteins that are linked to genetic diseases. Once the short protein sequence is completed, students roll the dice to reveal the single base change that causes the disease. Simple, fun, and educational.
