Grades 36. Who Took Fluffy?™ is a whodunit mystery that introduces students to science concepts through Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The activities also are aligned to NGSS*. The problem? Determine who took Fluffy the rabbit, mascot in Ms. Donroe's classroom. Grades 36. Who Took Fluffy?™ is a whodunit mystery that introduces students to science concepts through Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and activities aligned to NGSS*. The mystery? Determine who took Fluffy the rabbit, mascot in Ms. Donroe's classroom. While students solve the mystery, they learn concepts that help form the basis for all science learning, such as pattern recognition, cause and effect, and evidence-based conclusions. Designed to meet the diverse needs of teachers, the Who Took Fluffy?™ series is available as 15- or 30-student refillable full kits with 6 lessons and 5 labs, as separate standalone lab experiences for 15 or 30 students, or as fully online immersive activities with 7 lessons and 5 labs.
Each full kit includes the materials needed by students, working individually or in groups, to conduct the lessons and labs:
Full kits also provide teacher and student lesson guides with step-by-step procedures; an engaging story booklet presented in a fun, graphically rich style; and a sheet of Badge of Completion stickers for students to earn and display after completing the activity. Full Kit B also includes Bio-Foam® Impression Foam and casting compound so students can make plaster casts of shoe impressions. Refills replenish samples and consumables, allowing a full kit to be reused. Each lab can be purchased separately as a lab kit and used as a standalone activity.
Students access the online lab activities via a web browser on any device connected to the Internet, including desktop computers, Chromebook® computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Online activities include high-quality, graphically rich lessons with 3D exploration, virtual labs, a guided narrative, a dashboard for tracking student progress, and automatically graded multiple-choice quizzesall through the lens of a fun mystery story with friendly cartoon characters. With 4 possible scenarios that a teacher can choose from, the online activities can be kept as a mystery to students in different classes and schools, offering meaningful reusability in the classroom.
