Description

This is a pair of adult, lab-reared male and female Xenopus laevis (South African clawed frog) for breeding. Xenopus is excellent for studies in embryology, genetics, physiology, anatomy, morphology, and the amphibian life cycle. The female can be induced to release eggs every 2 to 3 months throughout the year, and the male can be bred every 7 days. Xenopus develops from egg to a small frog in less than 2-1/2 months. A stout-bodied aquatic frog that can measure up to 5" in length at maturity, Xenopus is excellent for studies in embryology, genetics, physiology, anatomy, morphology, and the amphibian life cycle. The female can be induced to release eggs every 2 to 3 months throughout the year, and the male can be bred every 7 days. The frogs will engage in amplexus in the laboratory. Xenopus develops from egg to a small frog in less than 2-1/2 months and may live up to 10 years in captivity. Complete with care instructions.
