About 1/3x life size. Study the human body's superficial musculature using this sexless, 2-part model. All muscles are painted in great detail using lifelike colors. The chest plate is removable, allowing students to examine the internal organs' structure and arrangement. Over 125 structures are numbered and identified in the included key. Mounted on a durable base. Size, 25 x 18 x 57 cm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very useful model to include in A&P muscle set This miniature muscle model packs a lot of punch for its size. It is small enough to fit in cabinets/shelves for easy storage, yet it displays the vast majority of superficial muscles. Even smaller muscles such as the individual forearm extensors can be discriminated. This has the drawback of altering her body proportions a bit as her wrists and ankles are somewhat wider than a typical woman. The model only shows superficial muscles. You cannot remove muscles to reveal intermediate/deep muscles, but you can remove a front plate to reveal a simple view of her thoracic and abdominal organs. It's not bad to leave superficial muscles intact. For example, most models cut the trapezius on one side to show underlying muscles. In contrast, students can observe the full trapezius on this model. I wouldn't recommend this as your only muscle model, but it is a great addition to other models in the A&P lab. Kudos goes out to the manufacturer for making a female model complete a hand on her hip to suggest she has a sassy attitude. We need more anatomy models that represent human diversity and show more natural poses!
