Overview

This engaging hydroponics setup is sure to interest and excite your students as they observe complete plant development by growing herb plants from seed. Students develop a unique perspective and get hands-on experience in plant science by journaling, measuring and graphing plant growth, exploring the senses, observing root structures, cloning plants, and learning about water transpiration. The Kit allows students to observe the aspects of plant development without the use of soil, and can be used as a classroom demonstration setup or for students working in small groups. Everything you need is right there (literally, just add water and a grow light), and it takes away the school gardening obstacles of not enough space, time, or experience! If you can push a seed into a hole, you got this! No need to worry about under or overwatering, it has a "wow, cool" factor, and you don't have to worry about bugs eating your herbs. Even comes with recipes and experiment ideas. I am currently writing a grant to get more of these to put in classrooms around the state! This will give teachers the confidence to integrate plants into education! THANK YOU!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Factor This product uses modern hydroponics methods in a fun, easy and powerfully educational way. Not only do the plants grow very well in the system, they also grow fast under 24 hour lighting. As the seedlings get bigger, it's amazing to see the roots emerge from the rockwool and collect the little droplets of water. My elementary students are drawn to this because they can see the changes happening from day to day (and sometimes within a single day). Plant science has never been so engaging. I'm planning to try different seeds next time just to see what happens!
