Description

Grades 9–12. Students explore the processes of osmosis and diffusion using a semipermeable model of the cell membrane. They examine how concentration, molecular size, surface area, and volume relationships affect these processes. Students further their learning by determining the concentration of unknown salt solution. Materials are sufficient for 10 groups.

Grades 9–12. Explore the processes of osmosis and diffusion using a semipermeable model of the cell membrane. Students will:

  • Explore hypotonic, hypertonic, and isotonic solutions
  • Examine how concentration, molecular size, surface area, and volume relationships affect these processes
  • Use agar cubes to examine surface area and volume relationships

Students further their learning by determining the concentration of unknown salt solution.

Materials are sufficient for 10 groups. Receive a free digital Teacher's Manual and Student Guide with kit purchase.
