Grades 9-12. Students explore the properties of matter through a variety of guided-inquiry activities. Students study the classification of matter, intensive and extensive properties, and chemical and physical properties and changes. As a final activity, students use their knowledge to design and conduct an experiment based on the relationship between intensive and extensive properties, focusing specifically on density.
