The fume hood is constructed of advanced plastics to provide chemical and flame resistance. Its AirSafe™ automatic safety controller combines airflow monitoring, filter monitoring, and gas detection; a low airflow alarm warns the user both visually and audibly. The deep base effectively contains accidental spills, and the sparkless/brushless motor is post-filter. The Multilayered Bonded Carbon Filter provides effective containment of toxic vapors, gases, and fumes while minimizing potential exposure to hazardous carbon dust.

The unit's flame-retardant Prefilter, Multilayered Bonded Carbon Filter, and HEPA Filters come preinstalled from the factory. Use the Multilayered Bonded Carbon Filter with the following chemical groups:

• Alkaline fumes
• Ammonia or amines
• Bromine
• Carbon tetrachloride
• Glutaraldehyde and formaldehyde
• Hydrogen cyanide
• Hydrogen sulfide
• Inorganic acids
• Mercury vapors
• Sulfur dioxide
• Sulfuric acid
