With everyday materials, students build a simple wave machine and complete a series of simulations. They construct 4 model coastline environments to identify, compare, and specify the relationship of waves to specific geography. The class then divides into groups representing local government officials, informed citizens, an environmental group, and land developers. All do research for their group presentation at a town meeting concerning a proposed new resort. For 24 students.
