Harness the power of the wind and explore alternative energy solutions with the TeacherGeek® Mini Wind Turbine activity. Students design a turbine to capture energy from wind and convert it into electricity, then reiterate as part of the engineering process to invent unique and more efficient designs. It's truly green engineering, tested through inquiry and empowered by experimentation. Use recycled materials (even 3-D printed) to create the blades and attach them to the mount with project sticks that are easily removed for challenges or labs. The hub holds up to 6 turbine blades with adjustable angles for experimentation. Learn how properties such as shape, length, or pitch affect the turbine's electrical output. A favorite, environmentally conscious activity for schools, summer camps, or science fairs. Activities are available for different grade levels, including grades 3-5, 6-8, and 7-12. Build once, tinker forever. Needed but not included: TeacherGeek® Maker Tool Class Set (item #755981), resistors, alligator clip leads, and a digital multimeter to complete the lab. Pack of 10 kits.
