Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Yet Challenging I bought this for my high school STEM course and also plan on using it for Anatomy & Physiology. My STEM students thoroughly enjoyed it. There were puzzled at first and it took them a while to get started, but once they figured out the initial design, the students worked through the steps fairly quickly. It make them think and challenged them to be creative. This activity brought up a lot of questions about the heart of other organisms and led to some additional research - initiated by the students!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engaging and encourages deeper understanding My Anatomy students enjoyed this activity. It did force them to think and struggle a bit, but they were able to be successful, and improve their work over time. It's rare to find a quality inquiry & engineering activity in Human Anatomy, and this is a great activity to meet those standards. I gave four stars on Ease of Use because my students did have trouble fitting the tubing together on some of the connectors, but that's necessary to achieve a tighter fit with less leaks. You will need at least two days of class (50 minute periods) to complete this lesson.
