Description

Microscope slide with a cross section of a Lilium anther that shows developing pollen (microsporogenesis). Demonstrates second (homotypic) division of meiosis. Quadruple stain.

Observe meiosis II in lily anthers using this slide. During the second meiotic division, sister chromatids in the nucleus of each of the 2 daughter cells (formed in the first meiotic division) separate and each cell divides again. This results in 4 haploid daughter cells. Quadruple stain.

To study the first meiotic, or heterotypic, division of the lily anther (meiosis I), order our Lily Anther First Meiotic Division Slide, c.s., 12 µm (item #304562).
