Additional supporting digital resources include a downloadable, editable PowerPoint® presentation with bell work activities, instructions, notes, and an embedded answer key, along with non-editable PDF handouts of guided readings about the sponge and its anatomy, graphic organizers, extension questions, and an answer key—all easily accessed at CarolinaScienceOnline.com, Carolina's easy-to-use learning management tool. Students will:

  • Use the PowerPoint® presentation to color in their table and sea sponge organs
  • Use the provided reading about sponge anatomy and their prior knowledge to determine the function of 13 sponge structures
  • Cut out the sponge and its structures
  • Glue together the Scienstructable sponge model using directions in the PowerPoint® file
  • Use the table and the Scienstructable sponge model to learn about sea sponge anatomy
