Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for anatomy class I purchased five brains, one injected— excellent for my high school seniors. Each student had a dissecting partner and my assistant helped me as I walked around assisting the kids. Awesome hands on learning!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Specimen I purchased these for my neuroscience class. I have students work in groups of 3-4 as they proceed through the dissection. I would highly recommend the dura mater intact version of the sheep brain because it promotes a proper understanding of the protective layers which surround the brain. Having the dura mater does require a little more work and time (adds approximately 15 minutes to the dissection time). Overall the dissection takes about an hour as the kids cut and identify structures throughout. They always love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sheep Brains I don't think any of the brains came with olfactory bulbs (damaged during extraction?) and one brain was a bit poor in quality (likely not preserved correctly).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Anatomy Nervous System Unit! I have used the sheep brains the past few years in my Anatomy and Physiology class during our Nervous System Unit. The students definitely get excited and are very engaged with this dissection. Great quality and there is a little smell of preservative with these, it is there, but pretty insignificant. It is also helpful to use the Carolina Dissection Mat to go along with the sheep brain dissection. The large colorful pictures help students with identification. http://www.carolina.com/preserved-organisms-classroom-resources/carolina-brain-dissection-mat/229910.pr?question=dissection+mat
