Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap and nonfunctional The lid doesn’t snap onto the top to keep the water it, and even when I taped it it didn’t hold the water in once I laid it on it’s side, which the description advertises as something you can do with this. The stand is cheap rubber. I’d be looking for one of these types of display containers. Something thin that allowed me to observe algae growth. But it’s good for nothing but observing root growth, which is not what a “Microaquarium” should be used for. If these were gigantic, airtight, and had a lid that allowed it to keep the water inside so you can create a miniature ecosystem within these two tiny glass pieces? I’d buy the largest size available and experiment like crazy. But that’s not what this product is sadly. Cmon Carolina Biological. Your the best science supply group I know of. Whoever you had make this needs to take a better look at it and do a redesign of sorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The new version of the microaquarium We use this product on a regular basis. We fill it with water and live mosquito larvae and then give the users a magnifying glass so that they can see the larvae up close. The newer version of it does not have as deep a well to hold the glass portion and we think it is not as stable as a result. We still love the product.
