In this Science Buddies science project, you will determine if bacterial resistance to a disinfectant, after repeated exposure to a disinfectant, depends on the concentration of the disinfectant. You can customize this kit to include the living K-12 E. coli, microcentrifuge tubes, cotton-tipped applicators, and other supplies needed to complete this experiment.
This is a project that illustrates the process of natural selection in action. You'll need access to a laboratory for working with the bacterial cultures used in this project.
