This demonstration device shows the apparent positions of the stars visible from Earth. The 3-dimensional representation allows students to visualize the relative angular positions of the constellations and to estimate which stars will be visible from different places on Earth for any rotational position of the planet. The globe consists of 2 concentric spheres (one 4" in diameter, the other 12-1/2" in diameter) mounted on a common axle and supported by a frame on a base.
