Grades 6–10. Investigating Biodiversity and Interdependence introduces students to the structure, function, and diversity of living things. In this unit, students will understand that organisms have common traits. The structure of each organism enables it to perform its function. Organisms are structured to carry out life tasks, such as getting food and using it to release energy. All organisms are made of cells. Organisms can be classified based on their structure and function.
