Students investigate 45 different chemical reactions between 10 different chemicals in this guided-inquiry microscale chemistry experiment. Using a unique reaction mat, students look for signs of chemical reaction, including formation of a precipitate, formation of a gas, and changes in color. They then use their data to identify 8 unknown chemicals. In addition to identifying the reactions' products, students also practice writing chemical formulas from compound names. Microscale procedure makes set up and clean up easy. Kit materials (item #840660) are sufficient for 30 students working in 10 groups of 3. Value Kit (item #840661) includes sufficient materials for 4 to 5 classes!
