Anatomy and Physiology of Casper Fish™ Basic Kit

Description

Grades 5–12. For 30 students working in small groups. Now your class can observe the physiological changes of a living organism's internal anatomy—without having to dissect it! Introduce middle school and high school students to the exciting Casper Fish™—a laboratory-reared transparent zebra fish.

Using easy-to-follow protocols, students examine the physiological effects of temperature on these live fish and directly observe real-time changes on the internal organs, including heart rate, respiration, movement, and more. Normal-type zebra fish are also included so the class can make comparisons between the 2 strains. Kit requires use of an already established aquarium (not included).

Note: Kit should not be shipped over a weekend. Carolina recommends that you request your order to arrive on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (or even a Saturday) to avoid weekend shipping. Contact Carolina Customer Service for more delivery options.

Note: The Casper Fish™ provided are intended for non-commercial, internal research and educational purposes only. The sale, lease, license, or other transfer of the Casper Fish™ to a for-profit organization, uses of the Casper Fish™ by any organization, including Recipient, to perform contract research, to screen compound libraries, to produce or manufacture products for general sale, or to conduct research activities that result in any sale, lease, license, or transfer of the Casper Fish™ to a for-profit organization are strictly prohibited. However, industrially sponsored academic research shall not be considered a use of the Casper Fish™ for commercial purposes per se, unless any of the above conditions are met. Customers seeking to use the Casper Fish™ for commercial purposes should contact the Technology and Innovation Development Office of Childrens Hospital Boston.
