Grades 5–12. For a class of 32 students. Study the effects of various dosages of gamma radiation on all stages of plant growth and development. Kit contains nonirradiated standard Fast Plants® (control) seed and seed that has been exposed to different levels of cobalt 60 radiation (50, 150, 500, and 4,000 Krads).

Mutagenesis and mutational effects can be studied by planting seed and comparing growth and development rates. Experiment times vary from 40 to 100 days.
Kit Refill replenishes consumed materials so the kit can be reused. The Irradiated Seed Set contains only the control and irradiated seed and is ideal for teacher demonstration, science fairs, or student research on the effects of irradiated seed on plant growth and development.
